From My Kitchen: The Best Use Of Your Thanksgiving Leftovers

Picture
Thanksgiving Day in a Blanket // Leftover Roll Ups // Thanksgiving Dinner Crescents ...it's a working title okay, but whatever you want to call them they are here and they will be another thing on your list of things to be thankful for this year. A few years ago, I made some pigs in a blanket to bring as a football game appetizer for the guys on Thanksgiving Day. I found myself with a few extra rolls of crescent dough and my Yiayia begging me to come back over to grab some more of the leftovers that had taken over her kitchen from the feast the day before. While sitting in the kitchen, we put our heads together and decided to make a lunch time snack out of it, preheating the oven and rolling up some of our leftovers in the dough. What we discovered was too good not to share...
Since then it’s become a day-after tradition, we started spreading the word to all our relatives that day and even made them with Jake’s family in Pittsburgh the last time we were up there for the holiday. So what do you need? Thankfully it's easy... crescent rolls and your Thanksgiving Day leftovers.

our two favorite Variations:

  • Shredded Turkey
  • Stuffing
  • Mashed Potatoes (or Sweet Potatoes)
  • Cranberry sauce
  • Honey Ham
  • Corn (or Green Bean Casserole)
  • Mashed Potatoes
  • Gravy
Preheat your oven to 375 degrees. Get out your crescent rolls and spread them out on a lightly floured surface. Afterwards, get out your leftovers and a parchment-lined baking sheet. Now's your time to be creative... take a small spoonful of each of your leftovers and scoop them onto the crescents and don't be scared to personalize; my Yiayia switched it up and put a sweet potato in there instead of mashed last year and Jake likes to add shredded cheese to his... that is unless there's cheesy potatoes, it's all personal preference. Roll them up and place them on your baking sheet. Then place the tray in the oven and bake for 15 minutes (or until golden brown). For an added bonus, warm up some extra gravy for dipping. Enjoy!

And if you try this recipe,
Comment Below what you added in your roll!
